Share Your Dreams
I’ve written and talked about sharing your dreams (goals) with people who will help you achieve them. And by help I mean people who will support and encourage you as much as people who have actual talents or resources to help you accomplish your goals.
But today I’m going to encourage you to share your sleeping dreams with people who played an active role in them. Here’s why this is on my mind…
This morning I had an amazing dream about moving in to a new home. A friend of mine from work helped me unpack boxes, arrange furniture and clean. I don’t know where my husband and kids were (perhaps out buying pizza) but at the house was just Liz and me.
Here are three things that stand out visibly from that quickly fading dream…
- Liz found a wonderful photo of my daughter (a photo that was never actually taken) when Beth was around 3-years-old.
- Liz found a secret room that I didn’t realize existed when I bought the house.
- Liz found and fell in love with an adorable stuffed elephant picture frame (with no pictures in it).
So what did I do? In my dream I gave her the picture frame (of course!) for all the hard work she’d done for me.
And when I got on the computer this morning I sent her the following note:
Hi Liz,
Just wanted to say Thank You!! for all the help you gave me this
morning in moving in to my new house.![]()
Are you confused? That’s okay.
I had a really bizarre dream about moving in to a new home and you
helped. You found wonderful photos of Beth (that were never actually
taken) and had them stylishly framed. You organized a hall closet
just the way I wanted it done. AND you found a secret room that I
didn’t even realize was there when I bought the house. And yes, of course you can have the stuffed elephant photo frame.
It’s the least I can do for all your hard work.Have a great day!

I’m sure she won’t know what to think of my note, but hopefully it will put a smile on her face. Hopefully it will also remind her that she is a part of my life even outside of the workplace.
If you have a wacky dream, I hope you’ll tell the person/people involved.
