Just Get Started

I’ve become caught in my own perfectionist trap again. Ouch! I hate it when that happens. I hate it even more when I have to admit it to the world.

Here’s the situation… in January a friend offered to connect me with the gentleman who coordinate their in-house Lunch-n-Learn programs where she works. I promised to have a flyer ready by February 1st. Done!

But then I started searching for better paper to print it on. Found it!

Then I started thinking about the cover letter that needed to be included with the flyer. Wrote it!

Then I realized that a professional speaker would also have a one-page biography, audio visual requirements, mission statement, a glossy presentation folder and so much more.

Yikes! I’ve become paralyzed by my perfectionism. Here it is mid-April already (okay, it isn’t really but it will be before I know it!) and I haven’t sent this contact any information on my programs.

Sometimes you just have to let go of perfection and get started somewhere. So today the flyer and cover letter are getting put in the mail. I’ve got to do it. I’ve got to just get started.

What can you put out in the world to get started today?
