New Schedule Update

A couple of entries ago I wrote about a new schedule I am trying that will allow me to focus on my writing/business as well as enjoy time with family and friends. Like many of you, I’m trying to find the right balance between family, a full-time job, and my own personal and professional dreams.

A friend recently asked me how it’s working. Well, if you noticed, I didn’t write any blog entries last week. Oops! It’s been my goal to write three times a week. Last week I didn’t write any. You might think my new schedule is out the window with results like that but you’d be wrong. 8-)

You see, last week I had the chance to put in extra hours on my job. I worked an extra 16 hours spread over two nights. So my scheduled work and play time were occupied with sleeping.

I did manage to fit in time with some friends and family but my business goals were pretty much neglected. Oh well. It happens.

This week I’m doing a bit better but still life has a way of throwing schedules to the wind. But I’m staying flexible and doing my best to stay focused on the most important things in my life.

This week I managed to write three blog entries and finalize the presentation I’m giving on Tuesday, Feb. 21st at the Career Center in Portland.

I also spent Monday down in Massachusetts celebrating my mother’s birthday. Also got to spend time with my sister and her family while there. Nice!

I did another 8 hours of overtime and played games with my kids.

Over all, my week didn’t follow my schedule to the letter, but I managed to focus on what was most important.
