Sometimes You Just Have to Get It Done
I made progress today. After rambling on about what I should be doing, I started revising this month’s A Swan’s Song story. I had just gotten started when my husband asked me if I wanted to go for a walk with him.
Heck yes! So off we went.
After the walk I did a quick grocery store jaunt, peeled some potatoes and got the fixings ready for dinner (an oven roast with biscuits). Then I sat at the computer, played a few guilt-free games of Freecell solitaire, and then I finished my story for A Swan’s Song.
Now my energy is flowing. For some reason that A Swan’s Song story (which will be sent out on November 1st–you can sign up by sending a blank e-mail to aswanssong@aweber.com or filling in the subscribtion form on my home page www.donnadoyon.com) was blocking my energy. Now that it is finished, my creative juices are flowing.
What is blocking your energy? Is there a piece of unfinished business in your life? A task that needs to get finished? A relationship that needs to be attended to? A button that needs to be sewed back on a sweater?
Small things can steal your focus and sap your strength. Oftentimes it only takes a few minutes to finish or fix one of these mind drains. And when you feel the relief you’ll wonder why you waited so long to take care of it.
What can you do today to reclaim your energy and your focus? What task have you been putting off and thinking you should get it done?
My challenge to you is to get it done today. Let me know how it goes!
