Where Does Time Go?
I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already! Where does the week go? Do you ever experience this mystical jump through time? One minute you are quite sure it is Monday and the next thing you know it’s already Wednesday? Or what about when a whole week or month seems to slip by in nary a blink?
I had big plans for these past three days. And to be fair to myself, I accomplished the most important things. You see, this was a week dedicated to reconnecting with friends.
On Sunday my husband and I double dated with a good friend of mine and her boyfriend. We went to see a community theater production of “Arsenic and Old Lace” which starred another friend of mine. Then the four of us went out to dinner. It was a wonderful day!
On Monday I spent the afternoon walking near the ocean and enjoying the company of another good friend. On Monday night I spent time at Toastmasters with a group of friends and made some new friends!
On Tuesday morning I had breakfast with my friend and Virtual Assistant Gloria Daniels. We plotted business strategies over eggs and stuffed french toast. On Tuesday afternoon I went shopping with Pat and enjoyed the guilty pleasure of a burger, fries and a Frosty at Wendy’s. Yum! Tuesday evening I took my two children out shopping for winter coats. What my son was dreading, turned out to be a delightful outing in Freeport, Maine. We laughed, we talked, we laughed. Ahhh…
But this morning, after running a few errands and taking my daily walk, I saw how many tasks were still listed on my “to do” list. UGH!
These past few days just flew by but I did accomplish some great things:
1. I spent a wonderful afternoon and evening with my husband.
2. I spent many hours visiting with friends and reconnecting with the happenings in their lives.
3. I let myself relax and enjoy the relationships without worrying about all that I wanted to accomplish.
4. I didn’t skip my personal needs (exercise) just to play catch up.
Over all, these past three days were extremely full of productive and important happenings. Who cares if the lack of fresh checkmarks on my written “to do” list suggest something else.
Where does the time go? Hopefully it is spent on the important things in life. Friends and family.
