A Touching Tribute to Our Pledge of Allegiance

I love listening to talk radio while driving home from work in the morning. I hear and learn about the neatest things.

This morning I listened to a recording of Red Skelton reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Red Skelton was a comedian that I never really thought was funny, so when his name was mentioned was ready to change stations.

But Ray Richardson of WLOB in Portland, Maine takes the Pledge seriously. I couldn’t imagine him letting it be ridiculed. And the passion in his voice when he talked about this audio clip convinced me that I needed to listen up.

You need to listen up too!

Here Red Skelton recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

Did you notice the date of the original broadcast? January 14, 1969.

How unfortunate that Mr. Skelton’s concern has become a reality for our wonderful country.
