A New Focus

I love September. Besides the obvious relief from summer’s humidity, September always feels like the beginning of a new year to me. I guess because it is for all the children returning to school.

This summer has been a time of continuing focus on what I’m doing in my life and what difference I can make in the world. I laughingly tell friends that I want to be slightly famous one day as opposed to stalker famous.

What does slightly famous mean exactly? It means that I can wear my sweatpants to the grocery store and no one will notice. It also means that I’ll overhear two women talking about one of my teleseminars or books as I walk past them. 8-)

Having told you that, I’ll now tell you about a new focus–a new direction–I’m going to take with my writing, speaking, and mission.

In the past my passion has been learning about and adopting success techniques into my personal and professional life. I can’t get enough of these self-help, self-discovery type books and programs. And so I’ve been sharing what I’ve learned from other success guru’s as well as what I’ve learned on my own as I incorporate or modify these strategies in my own life.

But I must confess that trying to help everyone be successful is daunting. Not everyone wants to be helped. Not everyone believes that attitudes and behaviors have a direct impact on the opportunities in their lives.

Recently I’ve realized that my passion for success building is a good match with my passion for parenting. I love being a parent! I love the way I have to grow to keep up with my children. I love that they can learn from me as much as I can learn from them.

So now I’m going to combine these two passions and focus my writing, my blog and my presentations on using success building techniques and principles to raise children.

Hey, I’ve rambled long enough I’m sure, so I’ll sign off for now. If you have young children, stay tuned for great things. If you don’t have young children, you will also benefit from these success principles.
