Back to School Means Back to Work
My kids will both be in high school this year (one senior and one freshman). In these final weeks before they return to school, my daughter (the senior) has taken the cash for school clothes and supplies and gone off to buy them herself. My son and I will be heading out tomorrow to do his shopping.
While part of me is sad to know that the house will soon be empty and I won’t have as much time to spend with them, I’m also looking forward to having more time to focus on my growing business.
The summer months have been calm and relatively stress free. My work pace has slowed down and I’ve enjoyed many hours sitting on the lawn chair in the shade and reading for enjoyment. I’ve spent many hours thinking about where I want to go and what I want to do with my business. September will be the time for me to start acting on these new insights.
Have you taken time this summer to slow down and consider where you are and where you want to be? Have you started to work out a plan (even if it is just in your mind) to make your vision a reality?
Your vision doesn’t have to be related to business. It could be about your health, your relationships, your own dreams that you’ve put on the back burner for too many years.
For many years I’ve believed that each year contains three New Year’s Days. The first in on January 1st. The second is on your birthday. The third is in September when summer ends, school children return to the classroom, and life settles into a routine again.
My new year is going to mean more interaction with my customers. I’m going to start holding weekly success teleseminars to talk about what is keeping you (and me) from achieving the success we want. We’ll be talking about the attitudes and behaviors that are holding us back. We’ll talk about inspirational movies and books that will remind us that we can overcome any challenge if we keep looking for options and asking for help.
I’ll be writing more about these calls in the coming weeks and I’ll hope you’ll join me.
So… what do you have planned for the new year?
