The Formula to Success
UGH! I really don’t like to exercise. Do you?
But the hard reality is that if I don’t exercise I feel like I have less control over what I’m eating. I am more likely to eat the junk food that will cause me to put the many pounds I lost over the past year back on. In fact, in recent weeks a few pounds (okay, more than a few) have found their way back onto my body. I think a lot of that has to do with the lack of recent commitment I’ve had to exercising.
So here I sit at 3:30 p.m. (typing 75 wpm on the keyboard doesn’t count as aerobic exercise, does it???) trying to decide if I want to exercise.
I just crawled out of bed a little while ago (I work the night shift), I haven’t through my e-mail yet, and I need to hit the shower within an hour. I have time to exercise, but no enthusiasm for it.
But… Jim Rohn says the formula to success is to practice a few good disciplines every day.
Exercise is definitely a discipline. It’s also a good one to practice.
So I guess my e-mail can wait while I go climb on my treadmill.
UGH! I don’t want to do it, but I know it will help me keep the pounds off. It will only take 40 minutes. I know I’ll feel better when I finish and even that once I get started I’ll be fine. But still I sit here typing away.
Does this every happen to you? When you have time to get something done, you wile it away until it is too late? Oops… my clock says it is 3:37 p.m. now. My time is running out. So I’m going to post this note and ask you… What disciplines you are failing to practice that would otherwise lead you to success?
