Step Outside Your Comfort Zone Today
I just got off a mastermind group conference call and my heart is beating wildly. My hands feel trembly with both nerves and excitement. You see one of the participants offered the rest of the group a challenge. She said:
“Do something that is outside of your comfort zone that will move your business forward.”
Yikes!
My inner whiny child voice screamed, “I don’t want to play anymore!” I like to do what is comfortable and familiar. I like to take inch my toe over the comfort-zone line rather than jump right over it. But I felt this challenge was bigger than crossing the line with my toe.
It really made me see that my way is too safe and although it brings about progress, it’s slow progress. Now don’t get me wrong, slow progress is progress. I’ll take what I can get. But what if…
What if I leap instead of crawl? What if I dare to be big and bold this week? What a rush that will be to just do it… at that point I don’t think the results would even be important. It’s about the leap.
So this week I’m going to do something big and bold to step outside of my comfort zone. I don’t know what it will be yet, but it will be something that will move my business forward.
What comfort zone trap are you stuck in? How can you break free of it to experience whatever exists beyond it? What big or small action can you take to move yourself forward?
I’ll keep you posted on what I do this week. I hope you’ll take a minute to tell me what you plan to do.
