Wasting My Time Playing Freecell
Do you ever fall into the trap of spending your time doing something that is absolutely useless in the grand scheme of things? Of course by “Grand Scheme” I mean your goals, your dreams, your life purpose…
Freecell solitaire is one of many ways that I can wile away the hours. I justify the time spent on this game by claiming that I’m just taking a break from my work, or I need to let my mind be free to think a brilliant thought.
But the fact is… my mind is just focused on moving one virtual card from one stack to another. The fact that theoretically every game can be one presents another challenge for me. Let’s face it, I like to win. So I can replay the same game numerous times until I solve the game. So that could turn a five minute break into a thirty minute marathon of mindless mouse maneuvering.
Is it any wonder that I’m behind on my dreams?
I’d rather play Freecell, but I think I’ll get some work done… first.
