Will the kids notice I’ve escaped?
It’s a beautiful spring day here in Maine and I decided it was time to rake the lawn. As each year passes I realize more and more that I do not enjoy yardwork. The idea of it intrigues me. It makes me breath deeply and imagine the smells of springtime.
The reality though is that it’s dirty, makes me sweat, and there are bugs out there.
So today I told my kids we’d rake the lawn and get it over with. I got a head start and after two reminders they joined me. We came inside for lunch about 40 minutes ago and they went back out about 15 minutes ago. Do you think they’ve noticed that I haven’t gone back outside?
I spent time checking e-mail, visiting a few sites, checking my webstats, and yes, I played a few games of Freecell solitaire.
I guess I should go out to help before they wander back inside with the task half finished. Oh to have a gardener.
